Sooo I'm going to China...

Hey everyone this is the blog on which I shall blog all about my travels and adventures in the great land of CHINA!!! I shall do my very best to keep this updated as I am not allowed upon the great and mighty facebook in this new land. I am going to teach English as a second language from Feb-July. I am teaching K-6 at Mayflora International School. This is in Linchuan, Jiangxi Province, which is in the south of China. When I am not teaching I will probably be having crazy awesome adventures and playing games with students. I will be living in the hotel that is used for student's parents when they come to visit. I am not going with anyone I know, however I will not be alone. There will be three other teachers going through this program at my school. They seem pretty darn fabulous.

Tonight I am starting my trip and leaving the state of corn! I am taking a Greyhound bus all the way from Indianapolis to Rexburg, Idaho. I will be visiting with friends and family through next Wednesday the 13th. At which point I will fly out of Salt Lake to Los Angeles, Los Angeles to Seoul, Korea, and from Seoul to Hong Kong. I will spend my first two weeks in China in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. I will be sight-seeing, touring, going to the Hong Kong temple, and training on ESL teaching. I am also going to be out there for part of the Chinese New Year Celebration! The Chinese new year takes place on Febuary 10th but lasts for 15 days through the cycle of the moon. I will be arriving on the 15th and will get to celebrate with the rest of China how awesome is that?!? Something I did realize though is because I am flying out the 13th and arriving the 15th due to the time difference and being over international waters I will literally not have a Valentine's Day this year! Crazy.

People keep asking me if I am nervous or excited yet. Well, it still has yet to hit me that I am going to China and will be living there so I don't really feel any emotions about it right now.One thing I guess you could say I am nervous about is the food. I am honestly not sure how to eat chicken feet or heads let alone if I would eat them.

PEACE LOVE n' BLESSINS YALL

This is the school I will be teaching at
